I am one of those people who usually has Halloween on their mind, year round. Right now, it has been on my mind even more. I still have so much to do for it. At my house we always make a big deal out of it. I like to get my Halloween decorations out in early September. We even do a big dinner set up, just for Halloween. Every year, since I was a little kid my grandmom would make a spaghetti dish that was cooked in a pumpkin. Now, I make the same meal, but I invite her and my sister over to enjoy it, as well. This year, I had plan on making everyone's costumes, but with my school and work starting back up again, I'm finding it hard to find time. But, I will share with you what I do have plan so far for costumes.
Over the summer, I picked up a fancy pink dress from a thrift store, for my daughter's costume. Originally, I was going to re-size the dress and add sleeves, a collar, and a bright pink belt to it for a Princess Peach Costume, but my daughter changed her mind. She now wants to be a Zombie Queen/Princess, which I think is awesome. I'm going to take the pink dress and now make it look like it is falling apart. I have also purchased material that looks like it is bloody, that I plan to add onto. I'm playing with the idea of taking out part of the dress, near the rib cage and replacing it with black material and painting bones onto it. I'm really excited about this project and once I get more done on it I will post pictures. Because of limited time, I started to think what could I be without spending too much money or time on it and then it came to me.
I had made a Fangtasia t-shirt awhile back for a spooky swap I was part of on CO+K. I loved the t-shirt so much that I had to make a second one, just for me. My t-shirt has been hanging in my closet, but now I'm going to be using it as my costume. I'm going to be a fangbanger/ waitress from Fangtasia. In case those are reading this blog don't know what that is from I will explain. Fangtasia is a restaurant owned by vampire, Eric Northman in the Sookie Stackhouse book series/ True Blood t.v. series on HBO. I'm going to wear my t-shirt with a pair of jeans and add two drops of blood onto my neck so it looks like I have just been bitten.
If you would like to make your own Fangtasia t-shirt check out the tutorial I posted onCO+Kawhile back ago.

sounds like a good deal! I keep getting asked to do more costumes this year and I only have two weeks to do them before I go on vacation! Not sure how I will pull through but hopefully it will all work.
